It was dawn and Xena was once again up and ready in the early morning. Leigh, who was never an early riser, lay fast asleep still curled into her bed roll. Xena couldn't help but smile at the young girl. She just looked so adorable when she slept. Afraid of waking her she got up and sorted out the camp, then headed down to a near by lake for her morning bath. Xena slowly stripped off her armour and slid into the water, enjoying the feeling of becoming clean again.
Leigh yawned. She was awake earlier than usual, mainly due to the lack of heat she experianced after Xena moved. She shuddered slightly already missing the warriors strong arms around her in embrace. She knew Xena would be taking her bath, she also knew the one main rule of being with xena. NEVER under any circumstances disturb her in her morning bath! A sly grin crept along leighs face as she thought of a supposed evil plan. Leigh carefully walked through the bushes towards the lake, being very careful to make as little noise as she dared to do. Thats when she spotted what she wanted, Xenas clothes. Picking up the bundle, including her weapons, Leigh ran back as quickly as she could.
Xenas head cocked to the side as she heard a person near by. Slowly she headed up to the bank and pulled her self out, heading towards her clothes.
"What in the name of Hades?!" She exclaimed, realising her clothes were missing. Looking around the near by area she realised they were truely gone.
Not one for being embarrased she strolled upto the camp with only a look of slight confusion on her face. That soon disappeared when she saw Leigh holding up her clothes.
"Leigh what in the Gods name are you doing?" Xena asked slightly confused.
"Well i thought if i can't disturb your morning bath, I'd get you to come to me" She smiled devishly "I like it already". Xena couldn't help but smile evily back, this girl always knew how to light her passion.
Xena walked seductively over to where Leigh sat down, slightly Kneeling infront of her. Her body glimmering as the sun caressed her slightly wet body. Her Long raven hair clung to her body, dripping slight beads of water that followed her curved toned body perfectly. Leigh couldn't help but gasp a little at the beautiful girl infront of her.
"So" Xena said "What was the next part of your plan" Her eyebrow raising in a playful fashion.
"Well" leigh responded "I hadn't thought that far ahead yet but I'm sure i could think of something" She said winking before cupping the warriors head in her hands engaging her in a very sensual kiss. SUddenly Xena pulled away. "Oh come on?! Theres trouble again?" whilst lying back in frustration.
"Sorry Leigh" Xena said smiling "We'll pick this up later, i promise" She winked. Throwing her clothes on she drew her weapon ready for a fight. A small boy ran out
"Please don't kill me i need your help!" he exclaimed, Xena looked at him curiously befor sheathing her sword. "I come from a villiage not to far from here. A nasty warlord is coming, we need help! Please you have to help us!!!!" Leigh looked at Xena in a 'we have to xena' type way. Xena sighed and nodded. "Great!" the boy said. "Follow me!" With this xena packed up the stuff quickly and with leigh and Argo she followed the boy to the near by village.
The village was small, quiet, pretty much a typical village as far as Xena was concerned. Xena and Leigh strode in, looking very confident. Villagers looked in awe and some in fear.
"Ok" Xena said "I heard you have a warlord coming. Lets make this simple. I want all the men who can fight to come with me. Leigh here is going to help the women and children find a safe place to stay whilst setting up a place for any wounded that may occur. Lets get going" She ordered. Soon the village was set up in two groups. The men set up defenses of spikes to keep horses at bay and had gathered up weapons for long range and short range combat. Leigh had set the villagers up the the strongest looking hut. Medical supplies scattered around.
Xena burst into the hut
"Leigh, come on the battles nearly begun" leigh nodded and made sure the women and children were fine before leaving and following Xena. A few select mean were stood behind the rest holding what appeared to be a poorly constructed bow and arrows Xena liked to call Greek fire. The front line men stood with any weapons they could find, pitchforks, spades and clubs. Xena stood up front, sword in hand. leigh beside her with her trust staff.
Men were slighted coming over the horizon. Horses stormed towards the village.
"WOOOOOOOOOAH" a solider exclaimed seeing the spikes, pulling the horse back. As did the 3 other horses that followed. Rising in fear the horses chucked then men and ran.
"NOW!" Xena shouted. The men with bows quickly set alight their arrows and shot into the on coming soldiers who dived for cover as the road infront beacme engulfed in flame... Due to xenas sneaky trap laying previously. Launching her chakram her and the rest ran towards the soilders beating them fast. The men retreated quickly.
"YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HOORAH!" The villages shouted, running back to their wives and children. Xena walked over to Leigh giving her a hug.
"Didn't seem like much of a warlord to me" Leigh exclaimed.
"Me either, lets say we camp here incase more return. I'm betting its some wannabe who wont be trying it again though" She laughed. Leigh took her hand and they walked into the village.
"Thankyou! Thankyou so much! You are very welcome to stay her, my inn and food for free tonight! It's the least i can do" Leigh looked at Xena with pleading eyes and nodded at the innkeeper. "Great! follow me" he said.
The girls followed the inn keeper and Xena got Argo settled into the stable. Settling down they enjoyed a nice lamb dinner and some mugs of port on the house.
"That was lovely!!!" Leigh exclaimed, Xena smiled and simply nodded back. Just at that instant a rather cute barmaid came over and started talking to Leigh. Xena rolled her eyes. She didn't blame people for finding Leigh attractive, it just annoyed her that everyone assumed they wernt together.
"You're so funny!" The barmaid laughed, stroking leighs arm in a flirtacious mannor. "Maybe you'd like to see me after work?" She winked.
"Oh no, i don't think. You know it wouldn't be a good idea"
"Why ever not" the barmaid said winking. With this Xena had had enough, resisting the urge to kill the poor girl right there she simply stormed out of the inn, pacing back and forth out side in anger. Leigh ran after her.
"Xena? Whats the matter?! Was it that girl? You don't have to worry you know" She held Xenas hand.
"it just bothers me ok i know i don't have the right to be upset that no one see's us as proper partners. It's my fault cause im generally very hard to read"
"Listen Xena, I know what i was getting myself into. I knew you wern't the settling down type i made my peace with that. Would it ahve been nice? Yes but i know thats not going to happen" Xena looked hurt "I didn't mean that as a dig you know" grabbing xenas hand.
"Will you let me speak for a moment" Xena asked. Leigh seeing Xenas expression nodded. "You're right Leigh. I've never been able to commit myself to one person. We both know that. You've known me long enough...."
"Yeah" leigh finished off looking sad.
"Leigh, I'm closer to you than i ever have been to anyone in my life. I've always thought it unfair to ask you to commit yourself fully to someone as non commital and cursed as me. You also know that is true." Leigh just nodded. "What i'm asking Leigh is for you to join with me"
"What?!" Leigh asked shocked? "Xena you can't possibly ask me this, i know its not who you are. You can't do this just to make me happy" Leigh withdrew her hand from Xenas "Im sorry Xena, the answer is no"
